Comprehensive R&D Management

The R&D Logs System is a comprehensive administrative tool designed specifically for the Research & Development department of JS CITS UPDF Mpererwe.

This system was developed to address the need for a centralized, digital platform to manage all R&D activities, including projects, presentations, courses, and participant records.

Built with modern web technologies (PHP, MySQL, TailwindCSS), it provides a secure, user-friendly interface for administrators to manage all R&D activities from one central dashboard.

System Objectives

  • To centralize all Research and Development documentation in one secure, web‑based location that is accessible only to authorized personnel.
  • To track projects, presentations, courses and meeting minutes with complete historical records, including start dates, completion dates, status changes, and all associated participants.
  • To manage participant (army personnel) records efficiently by capturing each individual’s rank, role, unit, attendance status, and involvement in various R&D activities.
  • To maintain detailed activity logs for full accountability by automatically recording every user action (add, edit, delete, view) with precise timestamps and user identification.
  • To enable seamless document upload, storage, and retrieval for each entity (project, presentation, course), supporting multiple file formats including PDF, DOC, images, and system files.
  • To provide a user‑friendly interface that allows administrators and staff to perform all management tasks from a single, intuitive dashboard.
  • To support printing and reporting capabilities, enabling the generation of professional reports, participant rosters, and activity summaries for official use.
  • To ensure data integrity and security through role‑based access control (super admin, admin, and user roles) and secure authentication mechanisms.
